Introduction: Today in Science class we are going to be learning about robotics! Robotics is a technology that uses machines to do tasks that humans may find difficult or tedious. We know from the assembly line in cars that robots have the ability to do activities with precision and accuracy. So, this means that robotics can be useful for many helpful tasks.

Lesson Outline: 1. Explain the basics of robotics 2. Introduce the concept of control systems 3. Explain the role of artificial intelligence in robotics 4. Discuss different types of robots 5. Show examples of existing robots in use today

Questioning: Through asking questions and using teaching tools, the teacher should assess that the children understand the topics they have discussed. Questions will help the children to think critically and spur conversation amongst the students. Examples of questions that could be asked are: -What is a robot? -What are the different types of robots? -What is artificial intelligence? -How do humans control robots?

Assessment: The teacher should assess that the students have fully understood the topic and objectives of the lesson. This can be done through a written task, such as a quiz or worksheet, or a physical task where the students have to put their knowledge into practice.

Differentiation: Differentiated learning allows students to work at a pace and level that is appropriate and challenging to them. During the lesson, the teacher should ensure that all students are supported to understand the topic at a level that is right for them. To assist with this, the teacher could provide tailored video or worksheet resources that are suited to each group of children.

Plenary: At the end of the lesson, summarise the key topics that were discussed. The teacher should then ask the students to recall the different types of robots they discussed, and what they can be used for.
