Introduction: Begin the lesson by asking the children if they know what a verb is. Explain that a verb is a word that describes an action, state or occurrence. Give some examples of verbs such as run, jump, eat, sleep, etc.

Lesson Outline: 1. Explain the different types of verbs - action verbs, linking verbs, and helping verbs. 2. Provide examples of each type of verb and ask the children to identify them. 3. Discuss the importance of using verbs in sentences to make them more interesting and descriptive. 4. Provide some examples of sentences without verbs and ask the children to add verbs to them. 5. Give the children some sentences and ask them to identify the verbs in them. 6. Provide some sentences with incorrect verb usage and ask the children to correct them.

Questioning: 1. What is a verb? 2. Can you give an example of an action verb? 3. What is the difference between an action verb and a linking verb? 4. Can you identify the verb in this sentence? 5. How can you make a sentence more interesting by using verbs?

Assessment: 1. Provide the children with a worksheet where they have to identify the verbs in sentences. 2. Ask the children to write a short paragraph using at least five different verbs. 3. Play a game of verb charades where the children have to act out a verb and the rest of the class has to guess what it is.

Differentiation: 1. For children who are struggling, provide them with simpler sentences to identify the verbs in. 2. For children who are more advanced, ask them to identify the different types of verbs in sentences.

Plenary: 1. Recap the lesson by asking the children to give examples of different types of verbs. 2. Ask the children to share their favorite sentence they wrote using verbs. 3. Provide a video resource for the children to watch and reinforce their understanding of verbs.
