Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and discuss current research trends in English Language Teaching (ELT).
Materials: - Whiteboard and markers - Handouts with articles on current research trends in ELT - Internet access
Procedure:

Introduction (10 minutes) - Greet the students and introduce the topic of research trends in ELT. - Ask the students if they are familiar with any current research trends in ELT. - Write down their responses on the whiteboard.

Presentation (20 minutes) - Present the students with a list of current research trends in ELT, such as: - Technology in language learning - Task-based language teaching - Content and language integrated learning (CLIL) - Learner autonomy - Corpus linguistics - Explain each trend briefly and provide examples. - Ask the students if they have any questions or comments.

Group Discussion (30 minutes) - Divide the students into small groups. - Provide each group with a handout containing an article on one of the research trends discussed. - Instruct the groups to read the article and discuss the following questions: - What is the research trend being discussed in the article? - What are the main findings of the research? - How can this research trend be applied in the classroom? - Monitor the groups and provide assistance as needed.
