Objective: To learn and perform a basic Scottish country dance.

Materials Needed: Music and reference materials (sheet music, videos, etc.), clean, open space, partners.

Time: 45-60 minutes

Step 1 (5 minutes): Introduce the concept of Scottish Country Dance, discussing its history, music, and steps.

Step 2 (5 minutes): Explain the basic steps and formations, demonstrating as needed. Emphasize the need to listen to the music, and that there is no right or wrong way to do it.

Step 3 (20 minutes): Have the students practice the basic steps, while playing the music. Encourage them to dance with a partner and help each other.

Step 4 (15 minutes): Guide the students to practice the steps in sequence, adding more complex steps as they get comfortable.

Step 5 (15 minutes): Have the students practice their routine together, and encourage them to help each other if someone needs advice.

Step 6 (10 minutes): End the session with a group performance.

Evaluation: Have the students write a reflection after the session to assess their learning and understanding of the material.
