Day 3: Role of Taxation in Government Revenue and Public Expenditure 1. Review the principles of taxation discussed in the previous class. 2. Explain the role of taxation in government revenue generation and public expenditure. 3. Discuss the concept of a budget and how taxes contribute to funding government programs and services. 4. Show examples of how tax revenue is allocated to different sectors, such as education, healthcare, defense, and infrastructure. 5. Engage students in a class discussion on the importance of transparency and accountability in government spending. 6. Assign a project where students research and present on a specific government program funded by taxes, highlighting its impact on society.
