Objectives: The students will understand the importance of sharing and be able to share with others.
Materials Needed: •Toy animals/characters •Stickers •Visual aids (e.g., posters)
Procedure: 1. Introduce the concept of sharing. Explain that sharing is when two or more people take turns using or playing with a toy. Introduce a visual aid (e.g., a poster) that explains what sharing looks like and the importance of taking turns.
-
Model the concept of sharing. Show the students how to play with the toy animals/characters. Explain that when one person is done playing with the toy, another person can take a turn with it.
-
Have a discussion. Talk to the students about why it is important to share, how they can practice sharing, and the feelings that come from sharing. Ask the students what they think about sharing.
-
Teach a hand gesture to reinforce the concept of sharing. Have students practice the gesture, which can be “taking turns” (simulate a person passing an object to another) or raising both hands in the air.
-
Have the students practice sharing. Distribute the toys to the students and explain that they must take turns playing with them. Remind the students of the importance of sharing and using the hand gesture throughout the activity.
-
Give a reward. At the end of the activity, give each student a sticker to take home to show their parents.
Closure:
Review the concept of sharing and the hand gesture, and ask students if they have any other questions about sharing. Thank them for their participation.
