Lesson Plan: Communities in the UAE

Grade Level: 4th-6th

Learning Objective: Students will learn about communities in the UAE and understand the importance of community in making people’s lives better.

Materials: - Pictures of different communities in the UAE - Whiteboard and markers - Handouts with questions about communities in the UAE - Computer and projector for video

Introduction (10 minutes): 1. Begin by asking students what they think a community is and why it is important. 2. Show pictures of different communities in the UAE and ask students to identify what they see in each picture. 3. Ask students to share what they think makes a community strong and successful.

Body (30 minutes): 1. Show a video about communities in the UAE and how they work together to make people’s lives better. 2. Discuss the video with the class and ask students to share what they learned about communities in the UAE. 3. Hand out the handouts with questions about communities in the UAE and have students work in pairs to answer the questions. 4. After students have completed the handouts, have them share their answers with the class.

Conclusion (10 minutes): 1. Review the importance of communities in the UAE and how they work together to make people’s lives better. 2. Ask students to share what they learned about communities in the UAE and how they can apply this knowledge to their own lives. 3. End the lesson by asking students to write a short paragraph about what they learned and how they can use this knowledge to make their own community stronger.
