-World map -White board -Markers -Capital cities chart worksheet
LESSON PLAN:
Part 1: Introduction 1. Greet the students and explain the purpose of the lesson. 2. Have students discuss what they already know about some of Europe’s capital cities.
Part 2: Learning Activity 1.Pass out the world map and show the students where Europe is located. 2. Ask the students which countries are located in Europe. 3. Using the whiteboard, list all the countries in Europe and their respective capital cities. 4. Have the students look at the list and identify the capital cities.
Part 3: Practice and Assessment 1. Pass out the capital cities chart worksheet. 2. Have the students complete the worksheet by filling in the capital cities for each country in Europe. 3. Go through the answers together, letting students self-correct their own work.
Part 4: Conclusion 1. Ask the students to summarize what they have learned in the lesson. 2. Thank the students for their hard work and participation.
