Dear World War 2,

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is [insert name], and I am a pupil aged seven. I have been learning about you in school, and I wanted to write to you to ask some questions.

Firstly, why did you happen? I know that you were a very big and scary event that happened a long time ago, but I don’t understand why people had to fight each other. I have learned that many people lost their lives, and that makes me very sad.

Secondly, I want to know if you are still affecting people today. I know that many people who lived through you are still alive, and I wonder if they still feel sad or scared when they think about you. I also wonder if you have changed the world in any way.

Lastly, I want to say that I hope we never have another war like you. I think that it is much better to talk to each other and try to understand each other’s differences instead of fighting. I hope that people can learn from you and make the world a better place.

Thank you for reading my letter, World War 2. I hope that you can answer my questions.

Sincerely,
