The ABC School District is dedicated to providing 21st century learning experiences to our students. The implementation of virtual reality (VR) technology provides students with immersive learning experiences that cannot be replicated in a traditional classroom setting. The ABC School District is requesting funding to purchase 10 VR headsets for each of our nine middle and high school locations.
This technology will provide our students with the opportunity to explore the world around them. Students will be able to virtually visit places around the world such as the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, and Buckingham Palace. The use of this technology will allow students to gain a greater understanding of the world around them and make connections to the curriculum that would otherwise be impossible in the conventional classroom setting.
This grant will also act as a catalyst to increase student engagement in our classrooms. We believe that when students are invited to take part in a learning experience that engages them, they become far more invested in the learning process.
Finally, the use of this technology will provide extremely valuable lifelong learning skills. By mastering the use of virtual reality technology, students will develop the skills necessary to investigate topics of interest and independently explore various topics.
We plan to assess success through measures such as student and teacher surveys, student performance, and anecdotal data. Our staff will also be trained in the use of the VR headsets and will be prepared to provide professional development to other staff members as needed.
By utilizing this grant funding, we believe that the ABC School District can help our students gain invaluable learning experiences, increase engagement in the classroom, and develop the technological literacy necessary for a successful future.
