I am Mary Warren, and I am different from the other girls in Salem. I don’t want to be like them, but they don’t understand me. They think I’m strange because I don’t believe in witches. They say I’m challenging authority, but I just want to be myself.

To me, authority is represented by the court and the judges. They are the ones who decide who is guilty and who is innocent. But I don’t agree with them. I don’t think anyone should be punished for something they didn’t do.

My individuality doesn’t pose a threat to authority because I’m not trying to overthrow them. I just want to be heard and understood. But the other girls don’t like that. They want me to be like them, to believe in witches and accuse innocent people.

Being an individual is a challenge in Salem, but I won’t give up. I will keep fighting for what I believe in, even if it means going against authority. Because in the end, being true to yourself is more important than anything else.
