Narrative Report: A Film Showing on the Life of Dr. Jose Rizal on Rizal Day
On December 30, 2023, as the nation celebrated the 127th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal, a film showing was organized to honor the life and legacy of our national hero. The event, titled “Ang Buhay ng Isang Bayani,” had the theme “Rizal: Pundasyon ng Kahapon, Isinasabuhay Ngayon.” Due to the ongoing pandemic, the film showing was conducted via Google Meet, allowing participants to join remotely.
The program began at 9:00 am with a prayer, setting the tone for the event and invoking guidance and inspiration from above. An audio-visual presentation followed, showcasing significant moments in Dr. Jose Rizal’s life, from his childhood to his contributions to the Philippine revolution. The presentation aimed to immerse the audience in Rizal’s journey and ignite their patriotism.
To further ignite the spirit of nationalism, a nationalistic song was played through another audio-visual presentation. The song served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our heroes and the importance of preserving our cultural heritage.
After the song, Ms. Jevemare Dalangin delivered a thought-provoking speech titled “Food for Thought.” She shared insights on how Rizal’s principles and values are still relevant today, emphasizing the importance of embracing our national identity and fighting for social justice.
Mr. Reymark Tolores then conducted attendance checking to ensure the participation of all attendees. This step was crucial in maintaining the integrity of the event and ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to learn from Rizal’s life.
Mrs. Cecille Gardiola, the event’s organizer, delivered the opening remarks.
