Objectives: • Students will be able to use the Present Perfect Tense correctly in an conversational setting • Students will be able to identify and recognize the structure of Present Perfect Tense • Students will be able to answer comprehension questions using Present Perfect Tense

Materials Needed: • Handouts of the present perfect tense • Chalkboard/whiteboard

Activity: 1) Introduce Present Perfect Tense: Explain to the students that the Present Perfect tense is used to describe something that started in the past and is still relevant today or something recently happened. Show them examples and respective past forms to explain the concept clearly.

2) Practice with examples: Ask the students to come up with examples of their own to practice using Present Perfect Tense. For example, “I have seen that movie three times,” or “She has worked here since last year.”

3) Introduce Present Perfect Structure: Explain the present perfect structure to the students. It’s Subject + Auxiliary Verb + Main verb -ed.

4) Practice Writing Sentences: Give the students a few different scenarios and ask them to come up with sentences using the Present Perfect tense regarding those scenarios. For example, “You accidently left your backpack on the bus yesterday” - Student could write “I have lost my backpack.”

5) Test comprehension and provide feedback: Provide the students with written and oral comprehension questions to further test their understanding of the Present Perfect tense. These may include multiple choice questions,fill int he blanks or other forms of questions.
