Objective: The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the high serve in badminton
Materials: Badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, court markers
Warm-up:
Begin with some basic stretches and walking, jogging, and running around the court.
Instruction:
1.Explain how the high serve is used. Instruct students on how to prepare the racket and how to grip it.
2.Demonstrate the proper technique of the serve so students can see and imitate it.
3.Encourage students to practice and watch each other as they serve.
4.Call on students to show the class their form on the high serve and offer feedback.
Practice:
1.Set up court markers to regulate serves in the center court and opposite court boxes.
2.Divide students into pairs and practice the high serve with each other.
3.Repeat the serve from both ends of the court, taking turns to serve and receive.
4.Give more individualized feedback as necessary.
Cool-Down:
End with some stretching, such as arm rotations, and have students practice their high serve one more time.
