  1. Ask students to create a list of all of the stories about magical carpets and slippers that they know. Encourage them to list at least one story for each of the categories: fairy tales, folklore, fables, myths, and literature.

  2. Ask students to identify any common elements among the stories they listed. Encourage them to consider characters, settings, themes, or other features that might be present in multiple stories.

  3. Have students compare their lists to the elements in the novel Magic Carpet Slippers. Ask them to identify any similarities or differences between the stories they listed and the novel.

  4. Finally, give students time to share with the class their results, comparisons, and thoughts. Encourage discussion and reflection.
