WHEREAS, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) recognizes that children are entitled to certain fundamental rights and freedoms;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

  1. The school administration shall integrate the principles and provisions of the UNCRC into the school’s policies, curriculum, and practices, ensuring that children’s rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled.

  2. The school administration shall establish a Child Rights Committee, consisting of representatives from the administration, teaching staff, parents, and students, to oversee the implementation and monitoring of child rights initiatives within the school.

  3. The school administration shall organize regular awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions for teachers, parents, and students to enhance their understanding of children’s rights and the importance of promoting them.

  4. The school administration shall ensure that all students have access to quality education, regardless of their socio-economic background, gender, race, or any other discriminatory factors.

  5. The school administration shall establish clear and effective mechanisms for reporting and addressing any violations of children’s rights within the school premises, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to protect the rights of the affected child.

  6. The school administration shall collaborate with relevant external organizations, such as child protection agencies, NGOs, and community groups, to enhance the school’s efforts in promoting and protecting children’s rights.

  7. The school administration shall regularly evaluate and assess the effectiveness of child rights initiatives, seeking feedback from students, parents, and staff, and making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.

  8. The school administration shall encourage student participation in decision-making processes, providing opportunities for students to voice their opinions and contribute to the development of child-friendly policies and practices.

  9. The school administration shall establish a Child Rights Resource Center within the school, providing students, parents, and staff with access to relevant information, resources, and support related to children’s rights.

  10. The school administration shall celebrate Universal Children’s Day annually, organizing events and activities that raise awareness about children’s rights and highlight the importance of promoting and protecting them.

We, the Student Government Council, propose this resolution to the school head/administration, urging them to prioritize the promotion and protection of children’s rights within our school community.
