It had been three weeks since the first victim was found dead. All with suspicious puncture wounds and an eerie smile etched on their cold, rigid faces.
The Detective had been following clues left at the crime scenes looking for leads as to who the killer could be. He was persistent, but all his work was leading to nowhere until he received a call from a neighbour who swore she had heard a blood-curdling scream. Her account of the event was so chillingly similar to the other crime scenes that it sent the detective into overdrive.
The Detective, now aroused with danger and curiosity, went to scout out the neighbourhood terrified that he may find another macabre scene. Heading up to the top of the street, he saw a house, one that he had overlooked before. Its windows and doors were boarded up, some graffiti reading “Stay Away” strewn across the front entrance.
This was it - he had to go in.
Filled with trepidation, the Detective slowly opened the door. To his surprise, he found nothing, not even the slightest sound. That is until a series of screams emanated from the attic. Hurrying up the stairs, he finally came face to face with a figure shrouded in darkness and shadows. This was the serial killer who had left a string of dead bodies behind.
Grabbing his gun, he immediately shot the figure. The body slumped to the floor and everything went silent. After taking a long moment to compose himself, the Detective finally apprehended the killer and released those he had taken hostage.
This horror story had ended, but the dark memories and trauma will last a lifetime.
