She tells them that when she was in the forest, she heard a voice call out “Come here little girl, I have something for you.” Intrigued, she followed the voice until she reached a cave. There, she saw an old woman. The woman told her she had a great gift, and so the girl went closer to the woman.

The old woman revealed that she had the power to grant the girl three wishes. The girl, unable to turn away free wishes, eagerly accepted. The old woman then told her that the first wish had already been granted - her wish of being able to see the future.

The girl excitedly asked what her other two wishes were. The old woman then said that with the second wish, she would have uninterrupted access to the dark spirits that lurk in the forest. The third wish, the old woman said, “Would give you the ability to control the dark spirits.” The girl hesitantly accepted the wishes and thanked the old woman.

The girl ran out of the cave in a hurry, and told her parents about the encounter. Her parents were horrified. No one had ever come back from talking to an old witch alive. But the girl had been granted her wish.

From that day forward, the girl experienced strange visions in her sleep. Whenever the dark spirits were near her, she could feel them. She slowly gained control over these spirits and even befriended some of them. She quickly learned to keep her dark powers away from prying eyes and ears.

Years past and the girl’s parents aging and slowly dying. But she was unchanged. Eventually, rumors began to spread of the strange girl that never grew old. A witch hunt began and the girl was accused of being in league with the dark spirits.

Finally, the townspeople had had enough. They captured her and burned her at the stake. The fire burned brightly and the smoke filled the sky. Amidst the flames, the girl’s voice could be heard, chanting an old incantation.

And then, everything went dark. Those who were present on that night swore that they had seen the spirits surrounding the girl, protecting her from the fire. They say that the smoke from the pyre reached the heavens, and the girl’s spirit was taken up to a better place.

But those that were unfortunate enough to look in the girl’s eyes, the night before her death, swore that her eyes glowed white. As if she were possessed by something truly evil.
