Far out in the depths of the forest lay an abandoned mansion that had been forgotten by time. Its imposing walls stood tall as a reminder of a long-forgotten era. Many of the windows were boarded up, a sign of its dormant state.

For years, the mansion sat in the forest like a silent guardian. Many feared to venture near, as disturbing rumors had begun to circulate. People claimed to have heard the click-clacking of unnatural footsteps on the grounds and strange whispering echoing through the halls.

One fateful evening, a group of daring adventurers decided to explore the building, hoping to uncover its secrets. As they crept through the hallways, an eerie chill filled the air. The nearer they got to the inner chambers, the louder the discordant whispering grew.

Suddenly, a piercing shriek ripped through the air, causing them to freeze in terror. They glanced around, looking for the source of the sound, but nothing was there. In the corner of their eye, a figure appeared and vanished just as quickly.
