Title: The Battle of the Plans

FADE IN:

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Two girls, JESSICA and KAREN, are sitting on the couch, scrolling through their phones.

JESSICA Hey, Karen, what are you doing tonight?

KAREN Nothing much, why?

JESSICA I was thinking we could go out and grab some drinks. What do you say?

KAREN Sure, that sounds like fun.

JESSICA Great! Let’s meet at the bar at 8 pm.

KAREN Okay, I’ll be there.

FADE OUT.

FADE IN:

INT. BAR - NIGHT

Jessica is sitting at the bar, waiting for Karen. She checks her phone and sees that it’s already 8:30 pm.

JESSICA (to herself) Where is she? She said she’d be here by now.

Suddenly, Karen walks in.

KAREN Hey, sorry I’m late. I got caught up with something.

JESSICA It’s okay. Let’s grab a drink.

They order their drinks and start chatting.

JESSICA So, what were you doing that made you late?

KAREN Oh, I was talking to my ex-boyfriend. We had a long conversation.

JESSICA (surprised) Your ex-boyfriend? Why would you talk to him?

KAREN I don’t know. I just wanted to catch up with him.

JESSICA (angrily) Karen, we made plans to go out tonight. You can’t just bail on me like that.

KAREN (defensively) I’m sorry, Jessica. I didn’t mean to upset you.

JESSICA (frustrated) It’s not just about upsetting me. It’s about respecting our plans. You can’t just change them without letting me know.

KAREN (apologetically) I know, and I’m sorry. I won’t do it again.

JESSICA (skeptical) How can I trust you won’t do it again?

KAREN (sincerely) I promise I won’t. I value our friendship too much to mess it up.

JESSICA (smiling) Okay, I believe you. Let’s just enjoy the rest of the night.

They clink their glasses and continue their night out.

FADE OUT.

THE END.
