Objective: To understand the significance of D-Day during World War II

Materials:

-Whiteboard -Markers -Paper -Pencils

Activity:

  1. Begin by introducing the concept of D-Day to the class. Explain that it was the day that Allied forces invaded the beaches of Normandy, France, during World War II.

  2. Ask the students to brainstorm a list of facts they know about D-Day. Write the list on the whiteboard.

  3. Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a fact from the list.

  4. Ask each group to create a stem activity based on their assigned fact. The stem activity should include a question, an answer, and a few clues.

  5. Have each group present their stem activity to the class.

  6. After all the groups have presented, discuss the importance of D-Day and how it changed the course of World War II.
