Task:
Create a model of Scotland’s landscape, using elements of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
Instructions:
-
Research Scotland’s landscape, including major geographical features such as mountains, lochs, rivers, and valleys.
-
Collect materials that can be used to construct the model, such as clay, paper mache, cardboard, pipe cleaners, and other craft elements.
-
Plot out the areas of Scotland on a map and decide how to create each region.
-
Break down the task into smaller projects: Gathering materials, creating the geographical features, and constructing the landscape.
-
Design the landscape using the STEM principles and allow creativity and imagination to drive the project.
-
Take pictures of the process and document the project development.
-
Once the landscape is complete, present your project to a panel of judges.
