Task:

Create a model of Scotland’s landscape, using elements of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Instructions:

  1. Research Scotland’s landscape, including major geographical features such as mountains, lochs, rivers, and valleys.

  2. Collect materials that can be used to construct the model, such as clay, paper mache, cardboard, pipe cleaners, and other craft elements.

  3. Plot out the areas of Scotland on a map and decide how to create each region.

  4. Break down the task into smaller projects: Gathering materials, creating the geographical features, and constructing the landscape.

  5. Design the landscape using the STEM principles and allow creativity and imagination to drive the project.

  6. Take pictures of the process and document the project development.

  7. Once the landscape is complete, present your project to a panel of judges.
