“Tulipanes en diciembre” is a novel about a young girl named Ana who is struggling to come to terms with the death of her best friend, Julia. In chapter 1, Ana is introduced as a shy and introverted girl who is struggling to make friends at school. She is devastated when Julia, her only friend, dies in a car accident. In chapter 2, Ana attends Julia’s funeral and is overwhelmed by her grief. She begins to question the meaning of life and death and wonders if there is a way to communicate with Julia from beyond the grave. In chapter 3, Ana starts to receive mysterious messages from Julia, which she believes are coming from the afterlife. She becomes obsessed with deciphering the messages and begins to withdraw from her family and friends. As a sixteen-year-old pupil, you may relate to Ana’s struggles with grief and loss, and may find comfort in her search for meaning and connection in the face of tragedy.
