Chapter 1 of the book “Those Shoes” is about a boy named Jeremy who really wants a pair of cool shoes that all the other kids at school have. Jeremy’s grandma takes care of him and she doesn’t have a lot of money, so she tells him they can’t afford those shoes right now. Jeremy feels sad because he really wants to fit in with his friends. One day, Jeremy’s shoes get too small and his teacher gives him a pair of old, ugly shoes from the lost and found. Jeremy doesn’t like the shoes, but he has to wear them because they’re the only ones that fit.
