Chapter 6 of the book “Living as God’s Children; Christian Religious Studies for Primary Schools” is all about the story of Moses and how God used him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt.

In this chapter, we learn that the Israelites were living as slaves in Egypt for many years. They were treated very badly by the Egyptians and cried out to God for help. God heard their cries and chose Moses to be their leader.

Moses was just a baby when his mother put him in a basket and sent him down the river to save him from being killed. He was found by the Pharaoh’s daughter and raised as her own son. But when Moses grew up, he saw an Egyptian mistreating an Israelite, and he got angry and killed the Egyptian.

Moses had to run away from Egypt because he was afraid of being punished for what he had done. He went to live in the land of Midian and became a shepherd. One day, while he was taking care of his sheep, he saw a burning bush that was not being consumed by the fire.

God spoke to Moses from the burning bush and told him that he had chosen him to go back to Egypt and lead the Israelites out of slavery. Moses was scared and didn’t think he was the right person for the job, but God promised to be with him and help him.

Moses went back to Egypt and confronted the Pharaoh, asking him to let the Israelites go. But the Pharaoh refused, and God sent ten plagues to show His power and convince the Pharaoh to let the Israelites leave. Finally, after the tenth plague, the Pharaoh agreed to let them go.

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, which God miraculously parted so they could cross safely. They traveled through the desert for many years, and God provided them with food and water along the way.

In this chapter, we learn that God can use ordinary people like Moses to do extraordinary things. We also learn about God’s faithfulness and how He keeps His promises. The story of Moses teaches us to trust in God and follow His plans for our lives.
