Title: The Impact of British Imperialism on India: A Critical Analysis of the Raj Era, Gandhi, and Indian Independence

Project Components:

  1. Research Paper: Students will write a research paper on the impact of British imperialism on India during the Raj era. The paper should include an analysis of the causes and effects of imperialism, the economic, social, and political changes brought about by British rule, and the resistance movements against British imperialism.

  2. Gandhi’s Philosophy: Students will analyze Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violent resistance and its impact on the Indian independence movement. They will also evaluate the effectiveness of Gandhi’s methods in achieving Indian independence.

  3. Creative Project: Students will create a creative project that demonstrates their understanding of the significance of Indian independence in the context of global history. The project can be in the form of a visual art piece, a short film, a podcast, or a creative writing piece.

  4. Debate: Students will participate in a debate on the topic “Was British imperialism in India beneficial or harmful?” They will be required to research and present arguments for both sides of the debate.

Assessment:

The project will be assessed based on the following criteria:
