Situation 1: You missed your flight to Paris.

Sentence: If only I had woken up earlier, I wouldn’t have missed my flight to Paris.

Situation 2: You regret not studying harder for your exams.

Sentence: I wish I had studied harder for my exams, so I could have gotten better grades.

Situation 3: You are unhappy with your current job.

Sentence: I wish I could find a better job that pays more and has better benefits.

Situation 4: You regret not spending more time with your family.

Sentence: If only I had spent more time with my family, I wouldn’t feel so lonely now.

Situation 5: You are critical of your friend’s behavior.

Sentence: I wish my friend would stop being so selfish and start thinking about others for a change.
