  • Discuss the concept of digital texts and their prevalence in today’s world.
  • Introduce criteria for judging the appropriateness of digital texts, such as word choice, theme, and interest.
  • Provide examples of digital texts related to sports and analyze them based on the criteria.
  • Assign a task where students explore digital texts related to sports and evaluate their appropriateness using the provided criteria.

Lesson 5: Culminating Activity - Sports Reading Project Objective: By the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to apply the skills learned throughout the topic to complete a sports reading project.

  • Assign a sports reading project where students choose a sports-related text, read it, and create a presentation or report.
  • Provide guidelines for the project, including the need to relate ideas in the text to personal experiences, create mental images, answer factual and inferential questions, and judge the appropriateness of the chosen text.
  • Allow students time to work on their projects, providing support and guidance as needed.
