- Provide examples of different types of texts (newspapers, magazines, class readers, and poems).
- Engage students in a group activity where they select a text from each category and justify their choices.
- Assign individual reading tasks where students select a text of their choice and write a short paragraph explaining why they chose it.
Lesson 2: Reading for Information and Pleasure Objective: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to read a variety of materials independently for information and pleasure.
- Review the concept of extensive reading and its purpose.
- Discuss the difference between reading for information and reading for pleasure.
