Stage 1 Reading Planners should include:

  1. A goal: Set a goal for the student to work towards. This could be a certain number of books to read, a certain number of pages to read, or a certain amount of time to spend reading each day.

  2. A plan: Create a plan for the student to follow. This could include a list of books to read, a schedule for when to read, and a plan for how to track progress.

  3. A reward system: Establish a reward system for the student to motivate them to reach their goal. This could include a reward for each book read, a reward for each page read, or a reward for reaching a certain number of books or pages.

  4. A tracking system: Create a tracking system for the student to use to monitor their progress. This could include a chart or graph to track the number of books read, the number of pages read, or the amount of time spent reading each day.

  5. A support system: Establish a support system for the student to help them stay motivated and on track. This could include a parent or teacher to provide encouragement and guidance, or a friend or classmate to read with.
