As a sixteen-year-old student, I feel strongly that youth can play a major role in progressing the worldwide social justice movement. We are the voice of the future, and the passion of our generation is unmatched. Our unique ability to understand the needs of those around us, and the needs of the broader global community, enables us to push the movement forward.
Young people have the power to set a trend that can mobilize others. There is no force like a young person speaking up for their beliefs. We are capable of taking our message directly to the masses, whether it’s through social media, protests, or rallies. We have the power to reach a broad audience and make our voice heard.
In addition, young people are savvy. We are able to comprehend complicated ideological theories and imagine a future with progressive policies that serve our society better. We understand that fighting for the rights of oppressed minorities is not just a political issue, but a moral one. We are better equipped and more easily moved to use our power to create widespread impact.
Youth are the future custodians of this world and of this movement, and we have the power to shape the trajectory of the future. We must take action now and voice our opinions to ensure that the benefits of social justice reaps every sector of our society.
