“There is only one last seat on the lifeboat from the Titanic. Everyone around is desperate to be the last one to be saved. We have to make a difficult decision about who will get this seat.
We must consider our values. How can we create a society of justice and fairness? We know that treating everyone in a fair and equal way is important. So, whoever gets the last space needs to be the person who most deserves it.
If we choose the physically strongest person, this isn’t really fair, because they might not be the most deserving. We must think specifically about the person’s kind actions, hard work and courage to ensure that they get the seat.
We also should take into account how they will use the chance they’ll be given to go on living. Are they going to make a difference in the world? Are they going to work hard to make a better life for themselves, and for others? We cannot give this chance to anyone who will just sit back and do nothing.
It’s a very hard decision, but in the end we have to choose the person who deserves this last spot the most. Mostly, we should look for the one who has done good for others and wants to do even more. That’s the person who will make the world a better place.
Let’s act now and make sure that the last person we save from the Titanic is the person who will use the chance to do the most good in the world.”
