[Opening]

  1. Welcome students to Activity 2: Vocabulary Building. Today, we will be focusing on food-related vocabulary words and using them to create simple sentences.

[Step 1: Vocabulary Words]

  1. Distribute a list of food-related vocabulary words to each student. The list should include words such as fruits, vegetables, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, etc.

  2. Give students a few minutes to review the vocabulary words and make sure they understand their meanings. Encourage them to ask any questions they may have.

[Step 2: Pair/Group Work]

  1. Divide the class into pairs or small groups. If necessary, assign students to groups to ensure an even distribution of abilities.

  2. Instruct students to work together to create simple sentences using the vocabulary words. They should aim to use as many words as possible in their sentences.

  3. Remind students to focus on the nutritional value of different foods when creating their sentences. Encourage them to use comparative adjectives to describe the differences in nutritional value (e.g., “Apples are healthier than cookies”).

  4. Allow students approximately 10-15 minutes to work on their sentences. Circulate around the classroom to provide assistance and monitor progress.

[Step 3: Presentation]

  1. Once the allotted time is up, ask each group to share one or two of their sentences with the class. Encourage them to explain why they chose those particular words and how they relate to the nutritional value of the foods mentioned.

  2. As each group presents, provide feedback and praise for their efforts. Encourage other students to ask questions or provide additional examples if time allows.

[Closing]

  1. Congratulate the students on their hard work and participation in the activity. Emphasize the importance of building vocabulary and understanding the nutritional value of different foods.

  2. Thank the students for their efforts and conclude the activity.
