  1. Letter Sound Match: Create a set of flashcards with pictures of objects that start with different letter sounds. For example, a picture of a cat for the letter “C” or a picture of a dog for the letter “D”. Have the children match the flashcards to the corresponding letter cards.

  2. Alphabet Hopscotch: Draw a hopscotch grid on the floor or use masking tape to create one. Write a different letter of the alphabet in each square. Have the children take turns hopping on the letters while saying the corresponding letter sound.

  3. Sound Scavenger Hunt: Give each child a clipboard and a list of different letter sounds. Have them walk around the classroom or school and find objects that start with each sound. They can write or draw the objects they find on their scavenger hunt sheet.

  4. Rhyming Bingo: Create bingo cards with different pictures of objects that rhyme. Call out a word and have the children cover the corresponding picture on their bingo card. For example, if you call out “cat”, they would cover the picture of a hat.

  5. Phonics Relay Race: Divide the children into teams and set up a relay race course. Place different objects or flashcards with letter sounds at each station. The first child in each team runs to the first station, says the letter sound, and then runs back to tag the next person in line. The race continues until all the objects or flashcards have been identified.

  6. Letter Sound Puzzles: Create puzzles by cutting out pictures of objects and their corresponding letter sounds. Mix up the pieces and have the children match the pictures to the correct letter sound.

  7. Phonics Sorting: Provide a variety of objects or picture cards that start with different letter sounds. Have the children sort the objects into different categories based on their initial sound. For example, they could sort objects into groups of things that start with “B”, “C”, or “D”.

  8. Letter Sound Bingo: Create bingo cards with different letters of the alphabet. Call out a letter sound and have the children cover the corresponding letter on their bingo card. The first person to cover a row or their entire card wins.

  9. Phonics Memory Game: Create a set of matching cards with pictures of objects and their corresponding letter sounds. Place the cards face down and have the children take turns flipping over two cards at a time to find a match. If they find a match, they keep the cards. The person with the most matches at the end of the game wins.

  10. Letter Sound Relay: Divide the children into teams and set up a relay race course. Place different objects or flashcards with letter sounds at each station. The first child in each team runs to the first station, says the letter sound, and then runs back to tag the next person in line. The race continues until all the objects or flashcards have been identified. The team that finishes first wins.
