WAGOLL Fable 1: “The Ant and the Grasshopper” (Beginner Level)
Once upon a time, there was a hardworking ant and a lazy grasshopper. The ant spent all summer gathering food and storing it for the winter. Meanwhile, the grasshopper spent his days singing and playing.
When winter arrived, the ground was covered in snow, and there was no food to be found. The grasshopper was hungry and cold, so he went to the ant’s house and asked for food. The ant replied, “Why should I help you? You didn’t work hard like me.”
Moral of the story: It is important to work hard and be prepared for the future.
WAGOLL Fable 2: “The Lion and the Mouse” (Intermediate Level)
In a dense forest, a mighty lion was taking a nap. While he slept, a tiny mouse accidentally woke him up by running over his paw. The lion, furious, caught the mouse with his sharp claws.
The mouse pleaded, “Please spare my life, mighty lion! I promise to help you one day.” The lion laughed and let the mouse go, thinking it was too small to be of any use.
Months later, the lion found himself trapped in a hunter’s net. He roared for help, and the little mouse heard him. Remembering the lion’s mercy, the mouse quickly gnawed through the net, setting the lion free.
Moral of the story: Kindness is never wasted, no matter how small the act.
WAGOLL Fable 3: “The Fox and the Crow” (Advanced Level)
A clever fox spotted a crow sitting on a branch, holding a piece of delicious cheese in her beak. The fox, wanting the cheese for himself, came up with a plan.
“Hello, beautiful crow!” the fox exclaimed. “Your voice must be as lovely as your appearance. Would you please sing for me?”
Flattered by the fox’s words, the crow opened her beak to sing. As she did, the cheese fell from her mouth, and the fox quickly snatched it up.
The crow realized her mistake and felt foolish. The fox smirked and said, “Never trust flattery from someone with ulterior motives.”
Moral of the story: Beware of those who try to manipulate you with false compliments.
