The Hunger Games is a popular dystopian novel series written by Suzanne Collins. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the country of Panem is divided into twelve districts, each ruled by the Capitol. Every year, the Capitol holds the Hunger Games, a televised event where one boy and one girl from each district are chosen to compete in a fight to the death.
The story follows the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers to take her younger sister’s place in the Hunger Games. Along with her fellow tribute, Peeta Mellark, they are thrust into a brutal arena where they must navigate alliances, survival tactics, and the manipulation of the Capitol.
The Hunger Games explores themes of power, oppression, and rebellion, as Katniss becomes a symbol of hope for the oppressed districts. The series consists of three books: “The Hunger Games,” “Catching Fire,” and “Mockingjay,” which were also adapted into successful film adaptations.
