Lesson 1: What is the Jungle?
Content: - Introduce the concept of the jungle: Explain that the jungle is a wildlife habitat, with trees, plants and animals. - Explore the environment and the animals that live there. Show pictures of different kinds of jungles, trees and animals that live in the jungle.
Play-based Task: - Have the students draw a jungle. Give them blank paper and crayons and let them be creative with the art.
Lesson 2: Wild Animals
Content: - Introduce the various animals that live in the jungle. It might be best to divide the wild animals of the jungle into different categories: invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, mammals. - Show pictures of each animal and ask students to guess which animals belong to each category.
Play-based Task: - Have students build their own wild animals out of clay. Let them work together to create an animal mosaic out of different clay shapes.
Lesson 3: Types of Jungles
Content: - Explain the different types of jungles, such as rainforest, dry forest and savanna. - Show photos of each type of jungle and discuss their different habitats.
Play-based Task: - Have students create a mini rainforest in a shoe box. Provide them with different materials such as dirt, rocks, twigs and leaves, and introduce some of the plants and animals that may inhabit each type of jungle.
Lesson 4: Plants of the Jungle
Content: - Introduce the various plants that can be found in the jungle. Show pictures of different plants such as vines, ferns, flowers and trees. - Discuss why the plants are important to the jungle and the animals that live there.
Play-based Task: - Have the students create a 3-dimensional model of the jungle. Provide them with cardboard, glue, faux leaves and twigs, and let them create and design their own version of a jungle.
Lesson 5: Climate of the Jungle
Content: - Introduce the different climate zones of the jungle and how they affect the plants and animals. - Discuss the temperature, precipitation and soil conditions and how they influence the plants and animals.
Play-based Task: - Have the students build a mudslide in a landform project. Give them clay, playdough, and stones and have them create the climate zones in a model.
Lesson 6: Threats to the Jungle
Content: - Discuss the various threats to the jungle, such as deforestation, climate change, and poaching. - Introduce the importance of conservation, and how humans can help protect the jungle.
Play-based Task: - Have the students create posters about the importance of protecting the jungle. Give them painting supplies and have them create posters about saving the jungle.
Lesson 7: Life in the Jungle
Content: - Introduce the idea that the jungle is a complex and diverse environment. - Discuss the different types of people who live in the jungle and how they make their livelihoods.
Play-based Task: - Have the students create a mini village in the jungle. Provide them with craft supplies and have them use them to make huts, paths, tool shops and other signs of a thriving jungle community.
Lesson 8: Animal Adaptations
Content: - Introduce the concept of animal adaptations and how they help animals survive in the jungle. - Show pictures of different animals and discuss how they have adapted to their environment in order to survive.
Play-based Task: - Have the students build their own animal adaptation game. Provide them with Lego blocks and string and have them create a game involving different animals and the features that help them survive in the jungle.
Lesson 9: Human Impact on the Jungle
Content: - Discuss how humans have impacted the jungle and explain how these activities can be both good and bad. - Introduce the concept of sustainable development, and how it can be used to help protect the jungle.

Play-based Task: - Have the students create their own conservation projects. Provide them with materials such as paper, clay, markers and have them think of a project that will help save the jungle, and present it to the class.
