Objective: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to explain what the Da Vinci Code movie is about and apply it to the design of a scientific presentation.

Materials: • Da Vinci Code viewing for class • Projector • Handouts explaining the movie • Worksheet summarizing content and discussing presentation design

Procedure:

  1. Introduction (5 minutes): Introduce the students to the lesson by showing a few clips of Professor Robert Langdon in the Da Vinci Code movie. Explain what the movie is about and how it relates to scientific presentation design.

  2. Movie Content Overview (20 minutes): Show the class the Da Vinci Code movie. Pause after each scene to explain key points and to relate those points to the design of a scientific presentation.

  3. Summary and Discussion (20 minutes): Hand out a worksheet summarizing the movie content and discussing presentation design. Ask them to answer the questions on the worksheet and discuss their answers as a class.

  4. Presentation Design Activity (15 minutes): Have the students break into small groups and brainstorm ideas for a scientific presentation based on the content of the Da Vinci Code movie.

  5. Wrap Up (10 minutes): Have each group share their ideas for the scientific presentation and lead a discussion about the importance of design in any presentation.
