Title: Celebrating Ramadan and Easter in EYFS

Objective: To introduce children to the concepts of Ramadan and Easter and to promote cultural awareness and understanding.

Resources: - Pictures and videos of Ramadan and Easter celebrations - Books about Ramadan and Easter - Arts and crafts materials - Playdough - Music and dance props

Introduction: Start the lesson by asking the children if they have heard of Ramadan and Easter. Show them pictures and videos of people celebrating these festivals. Explain that Ramadan is a month-long Islamic festival where Muslims fast during the day and break their fast at sunset. Easter is a Christian festival that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Main Activity: 1. Ramadan: Ask the children to make a crescent moon and star using playdough. Explain that the crescent moon and star are symbols of Islam and are often seen during Ramadan. Play Islamic music and encourage the children to dance and move to the rhythm.

  1. Easter: Read a story about the Easter bunny and ask the children to make their own bunny using arts and crafts materials. Explain that the Easter bunny is a symbol of Easter and is often associated with the giving of chocolate eggs. Play Easter-themed music and encourage the children to hop like bunnies.

Conclusion: Gather the children together and ask them what they have learned about Ramadan and Easter. Encourage them to share their playdough creations and bunny crafts. Emphasize the importance of respecting and celebrating different cultures and traditions. End the lesson with a group dance to celebrate the diversity of our world.
