Introduction (10 minutes): - Gather the children in a circle and introduce the topic of music. Ask them if they know what music is and what it sounds like. - Play a short piece of music and ask the children to listen carefully and identify the different sounds they hear. - Introduce the musical instruments and show them to the children. Explain that each instrument makes a different sound and that we can use them to create music.
Main Activity (30 minutes): - Set up a music station with the instruments and CDs. Encourage the children to explore the instruments and make their own music. - Play a variety of music CDs and encourage the children to dance and move to the music. Use scarves or ribbons to add to the movement activities. - Use the whiteboard to draw simple musical notes and rhythms. Ask the children to copy the rhythms using their instruments or by clapping their hands.
Conclusion (10 minutes): - Gather the children back in a circle and ask them to share their favorite instrument or musical activity from the lesson. - Play a final piece of music and encourage the children to listen carefully and identify the different sounds they hear. - Remind the children that music is a fun and creative way to express themselves and encourage them to continue exploring music at home.
