-
Warm-up: Have students stand and move around the room - stretch arms and legs and rotate torso in a circular motion.
-
Mirroring: Have students stand facing a partner, move to the beat and take turns mirroring each other’s moves.
-
Step-Touch: Introduce the basic step-touch pattern and have students practice it to the song.
-
Teaching the Choreography: Step-by-step teach a choreographed routine to the song - incorporating the step-touch, arms, and any other moves that come to mind.
-
Combining two Parts: Insert two small introduction sequences, each only 16 beats long. Have students practice performing both one after the other and combine the two 16-beat sequences for the complete intro.
-
Adding an Ending: The last part should be a fun finale move that ties up the dance. This can be done as a group, with all of the dancers doing the same move, or as a freestyle dance out at the end of the routine.
7.Performance: Have students perform their dance at the end of the lesson.
- Cool Down: After the performance have students step back and take some time to relax and stretch.
