Silent Ball: This is a cooperative game that involves everyone in the classroom. Gather in a circle and the coach will start the game by tossing a ball of wool around the circle. The students must pass the ball with eye contact and any form of communication (gestures, facial expressions, etc.). Once the ball is passed, the coach calls out a direction (e.g. clockwise, counterclockwise, etc.). The game ends when everyone has had the opportunity to throw the ball.

Turtle Race: In this race, students must work together to help each other cross the room. Line up the students in two straight lines and have them link arms. The coach then shouts out a goal, e.g. “turtle race to the other side of the room!” The students must then race across the room while still linked up in the same formation.

Charades: This classic game is great for getting kids active in class. Divide the class into two teams and have each team take turns forming a team member in a charade. The team must guess within a certain time frame, and the charade can range from a book, movie, character, or any other clue given to them by the coach.

Ice Coffee: In this cooperative game, the students must form two circles, an inner and an outer one. The coach then calls out a direction, like “ice coffee,” and the inner circle must turn around to face the outer circle. When the coach says “go,” the inner circle must run around the outer circle and try to find the empty seat.

Tic-Tac-Toe Relay Race: Divide the class into two teams and have the teams line up in two straight lines. The coach will then draw a simple tic-tac-toe board on the floor. The first person from each team must run to the board, mark an X or O, and run back to their teammates. The team that gets three in a row first wins the game.

Debate Races: This game is great for getting kids talking and thinking. Divide the class into two teams and have each team create two opposing arguments for any debate topic. The teams then race against each other to see who can debate the best and come up with the strongest argument.

Word Relay: The coach creates two teams and gives them a list of words. The teams must take turns running to the front of the class, writing the word on the chalkboard, and running back. The first team to finish writing all the words on the board wins the game.

Scavenger Hunt: The coach will divide the class into two teams and give them a list of items they must find around the classroom or school. They can search the classroom or go outside in the hallway. Each team must find their list of items and bring them back to the classroom. The first team to return with their items wins the game.

Musical Chairs: Line up a row of chairs and have the students standing behind them. The coach then plays music and the students must walk around the chairs. When the music stops, each student must try to find an empty chair to sit in. The student with no chair is eliminated from the game. The last student standing wins.

Juggle Soccer: Divide the class into two teams and have each team stand in a line. The coach then passes the ball to the first student and the student must juggle the ball for a set amount of time. Then, the student must pass the ball to the next student. The team that completes their line first wins the game.
