In this EYFS lesson, we will be focusing on the important skill of resilience. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from difficult situations and to keep trying even when things are tough. It is an essential life skill that helps us to cope with challenges and setbacks.

To introduce the concept of resilience, we will be using a YouTube story called “The Little Engine That Could”. This classic children’s story is about a small train engine that is tasked with pulling a heavy load up a steep hill. Despite facing many obstacles and setbacks, the little engine perseveres and eventually succeeds in reaching the top of the hill.

Through this story, we will explore the importance of having a positive attitude, believing in ourselves, and never giving up. We will also discuss how we can apply these lessons to our own lives and develop our own resilience skills.

By the end of this lesson, children will have a better understanding of what resilience is and how they can develop this important skill. They will also have learned valuable lessons about perseverance, determination, and the power of a positive attitude.
