Procedure: 1. Begin the lesson by asking the children what they know about staying healthy. Encourage them to share their ideas and thoughts. 2. Show the children the video about the different food groups (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsgyWIsYvxs). This video will provide a basic understanding of the different food groups and their importance. 3. After watching the video, introduce the nutrition PowerPoint. Go through each slide and discuss the different nutrients needed to keep us healthy. Explain the functions of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water. 4. Divide the children into pairs or small groups. Provide each group with the sorting activity worksheet or ask them to draw their own foods on a blank sheet of paper. 5. Instruct the children to sort the different foods into the correct category based on their nutrient content. They can use the information from the PowerPoint to help them. 6. Once the sorting activity is complete, ask the children to stick the information sheet about nutrients onto their worksheets or drawings. 7. Allow time for the children to share their findings and discuss their choices with the class. 8. Wrap up the lesson by summarizing the importance of different nutrients in supporting our health and well-being.
