Procedures:

Introduction (10 minutes) • Greet the students and explain what today’s lesson will be about. • Ask the students if they know what the word “Epiphany” means. • Ask the students to brainstorm different words associated with the Epiphany Feast. • Write their suggestions on the whiteboard and discuss each one.

Discussion/Activity (20 minutes) • Show the students a PowerPoint presentation about the Epiphany Feast. • Discuss the journey of the three Wise Men who followed a star to find the baby Jesus in Bethlehem. • Ask the students if they know any of the traditional customs or activities associated with the Feast of Epiphany. • Have the students use the interactive whiteboard to research some of the traditional customs for the holiday, such as baking a king cake and the “luck of the draw” game. • Have the students work in pairs to create drawings, stories, or poems about the Epiphany Feast.

Conclusion (10 minutes) • Have the students share their stories, drawings, and poems with the class. • Ask the students what they have learned about the Feast of Epiphany. • Remind students that Epiphany is a special celebration of when Jesus Christ was born and when the three Wise Men visited him.
