I. Introduction (5 minutes): WordPress is a powerful tool for creating websites. In this lesson, we will explore the basics of using WordPress for website design and development.

II. Overview of WordPress (10 minutes): Go over the basics of how WordPress works, including the construction of themes, plugins and features available to customize a website.

III. WordPress Dashboard (15 minutes): Walk through the different sections of the WordPress dashboard, including the Appearance, Posts, Media, Settings and Comments sections. Explain the purpose of each section and demonstrate how to use each one.

IV. Create a Site (15 minutes): Step by step, demonstrate how to create a website using WordPress. Show how to create a theme, widgets and plugins, and explain how to customize settings for the website.

V. WordPress Maintenance (15 minutes): Explain the importance of maintaining a WordPress website, including updating themes, plugins, and addressing potential issues that could arise.

VI. Questions and Comments (10 minutes): Allow students to ask questions and/or make comments about WordPress, website design and development.

VII. Conclusion and Summary (10 minutes): Review the key points of the lesson and answer any remaining questions. Encourage students to explore WordPress and website design on their own.
