    • Write a few examples on the board, such as “I used to play soccer every weekend” or “She used to eat ice cream every day.”
    • Explain that we use the structure “used to + verb” to talk about past habits or actions that are no longer true in the present.
    • Provide a few more examples and ask students to identify the structure “used to + verb” in each sentence.
  2. Guided Practice (15 minutes):
    • Distribute the handout with examples of “used to + verb” sentences.
    • Read each sentence aloud and ask students to identify the verb and the structure “used to + verb.”
    • Discuss the meaning of each sentence and encourage students to share their own experiences related to the habits mentioned.
    • Clarify any questions or doubts students may have about the structure.
  3. Independent Practice (20 minutes):
    • Distribute the worksheet with sentence completion exercises.
    • Instruct students to complete each sentence using the “used to + verb” structure.
    • Encourage students to think about their own past habits and experiences while completing the sentences.
    • After completing the worksheet, have students pair up and share their answers with a partner.
    • Discuss some of the completed sentences as a class, allowing students to share their experiences and habits.
  4. Application (15 minutes):
    • Instruct students to write a short paragraph (5-7 sentences) about a habit they used to have in the past.
    • Remind them to use the “used to + verb” structure correctly.
    • Allow students to share their paragraphs with a partner or with the whole class if time permits.
    • Provide feedback and corrections as necessary.
  5. Conclusion (5 minutes):
    • Recap the lesson by asking students to share one habit they used to have in the past.
    • Review the structure “used to + verb” and its meaning.
    • Encourage students to continue using this structure in their writing and speaking to describe past habits.
