Procedure

1. Explain to the students that they will be learning how to add two digit numbers within 20. Also explain that they should use their white boards to practice and remember their answers.

2. Ask students to open their workbooks to page 37.

3. Have students look over the example problem and discuss the steps that were taken to add the two numbers.

4. Read the first problem aloud for the class.

5. Ask students to work on the first problem on their white boards and give them a two minute timer.

6. Once the timer has gone off, ask a few students to share their answers.

7. If the answer is incorrect, provide extra guidance and ask students to revise it if they are able.

8. Follow this same pattern with the other problems in the workbook.

9. After all the problems have been completed, review the answers with the class and talk about any mistakes that were made.

10. Ask students for questions and answers about the topic before the lesson ends.

Closure:
