Lesson:

  3. Introduce the number chart to the class. Explain that the number chart will help them easily add two-digit numbers.

  4. Demonstrate the process of adding two-digit numbers using the number chart for the students (e.g. 18 + 4 = 20).

  5. Ask the students to explain how the number chart works.

  6. Give the students worksheets that include two-digit numbers and ask them to add the numbers independently.

  7. Monitor the students while they complete the worksheets and provide assistance if needed.

  8. Finally, ask the students to explain their understanding of two digit addition and how to use the number chart to add two-digit numbers within 20.
