Introduction: (10 minutes) Explain to the students what you are learning about today, referring to the learning intention. Emphasize that you will be looking at the physical geography (mountains, rivers, deserts etc.) and the human geography (population, languages, religion, culture, etc.) of Europe. Ask students to share any prior knowledge they may have as it could be helpful when discussing the topic.

Group Activity: (30 minutes) Split the class into groups of 4 and give each group a printed map of Europe. Instruct them to look at the map and identify the main physical and human features of the continent. Encourage them to discuss the information they find and brainstorm ideas of what Europe looks and sounds like.

Identification Activity: (20 minutes) As a class, identify and discuss the physical and human features of Europe. For example, you could talk about the mountain ranges, major cities, population, languages, religions, culture, etc. Ask the students to list key features in their notebooks as you discuss.
